about

H A R S H N O I S E W A L L / A M B I E N T N O I S E W A L L

'Four Walls' is a small collection of screenslaver wall noise tracks that have appeared on compilations, and one track made especially for this release.

((((Apologies in advance for their un-mastered quality))))

Many thanks to the HNW netlabel curator James Shearman (A Raja's Mesh Men) for giving me the opportunity to appear on the HNW100 comp and thus got the ball rolling for me, as well as all the awesome people behind the Harsh Noise and Wall Noise projects that continue to inspire me, you know who you are!

Whether 'Four Walls' marks the beginning of a new direction for me as an artist or remains nothing more than a documented failed attempt at HNW, this is simply me sending out nothing but my warmest wishes to the Wall Noise community at large.

Long Live The Wall. Embrace the Abyss.

Track Name: The Holy Saviour
San Salvador (The Holy Saviour) was the name given to El Salvador’s capital city in 1525 by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado who named the small Central American country after Jesus Christ in it’s full title:

“Provincia De Nuestro Señor Jesus Cristo, El Salvador Del Mundo”
(Province of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World) which was eventually shortened to ‘El Salvador’ (The Saviour).

Track Name: Cuzcatlán
An Ambient Noise Wall made for this release as a bonus track.
Feel special when you listen to it.

Cuzcatlán (which roughly translates to ‘place of the diamond jewels’) was the original name of El Salvador given to it by the Nahuatl speaking inhabitants of the region prior to being conquered by the Spanish Empire.

The Pipil, lead by Atlacatl - who some believe was a myth - proved to be more difficult to overthrow in comparison with the Aztecs of Mexico and the Mayans in Guatamala.

Pedro de Alvadaro’s first attempt at capture ended with heavy casualties, including Pedro de Alvadaro who suffered an injury to his left thigh which made him handicapped for life.

Forced to retreat, he sent his brother Gonzalo de Alvarado and reinforcements in to finish the job.
